The regional auditions for “KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI” which is all set to enter into the fifth season, was held at the H K CAMPUS, Mumbai on 2nd July 2011. Earlier the auditions were held in Lucknow, Kolkata, Bhopal, Nagpur and many other places.
Sony TV’s popular show “KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI” is one of the most popular reality shows on Indian Television. It is the same quiz game show where you can earn grand prize money of One Crore Rupees. The game show became a huge rage with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan hosting its first and second seasons. Following this, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was roped in for the third. But Big B returned to anchor the show's fourth season which was aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
The auditions were organised by 7ty7 Entertainment Private Ltd, Mumbai. Three students from HKIMSR, Vishal Singh, Abhijith Balan and Nilesh Gupta were the part of planning and execution team for 7ty7 Entertainment Private Ltd as summer interns. Three of them were part of the organizing crew who co coordinated the entire audition process. They were also assigned the responsibility of handling the production room, from where all coordination was initiated.
The entire setup was created and tested a day before the audition. Each member of the crew was assigned a specific role by the Team Head. The entire setup was ready by mid night and 5 rooms were allocated for simultaneous auditions. The entire logistics and manpower was meticulously planned and executed.
The first phase of the audition began with the registration of the contestants who had come from various parts of Mumbai to give their best shot to get selected for the show hosted by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Everyone had come with an intention to clear the audition that would pave their way for Fastest Finger Round. In Fastest Finger round, contestants have to compete with others in giving the super-fast right option which will fetch them a chance to take a hot seat with Big B on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 5.
The contestants were divided into two categories: Idea and General category. Idea category included the contestants who had participated using idea numbers, whereas the general category included the contestants who had participated using other network numbers. After the registration, all the contestants were guided to the auditorium.
In the auditorium, the contestants were instructed to give their personal details. They were also asked to give written tests in order to check their IQ level. There were around 250 contestants who came for the auditions.
The second phase of the audition began with small video shoots of all the contestants. The video shoots happened simultaneously in five classrooms. The contestants were asked some basic questions like: Why they want to participate in the KBC game show? What they will do with the prize money, if they get a chance of playing KBC? What message they want to convey to Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, if they don’t get selected in the auditions?
After the video shoot, the contestants were served the lunch. Before leaving, they were gifted goodie bags containing a poster of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and a coffee mug. All the contestants were very happy with the way things were arranged. They all left with a big smile on their face and with a hope that they would get selected to play KBC and get a chance to be with Big B.
After a very challenging day, the auditions came to an end. The Team Head appreciated the efforts put by all the crew members including the students of our institute. As a token of appreciation all the crew members were given goodie bags to take home.
